Boo!

Someone hit our car while it was parked in front of our house - at about 3:30 am on Saturday morning. Gregg noticed out our window, that some red plastic was scattered around our car -

When we went to examine, we found this! As we stood outside, an officer pulled up and notified us that a Taurus has been abandoned in the middle of the street up the road, unable to drive any longer after the impact. We don't know yet if it was stolen, or if the owner has crashed into our car. Our car, as shown below, was also left undriveable!

Nice, huh!
The best part - We had just put $400 into fixing it (which Gregg just informed me hadn't even fixed the problem).

Staining!

I have been staining our new mouldings!! Can you believe it's already time for the finish work on the addition!!!
Initially we bought the stainable mouldings from Lowe's - they were Pine - but they stained poorly, and looked cheap.

We visited Huetter's here in SLC, and purchased some knotty piny instead. I was amazed at the difference in the finished quality. It's just too bad our doors are poor quality wood instead of something that looks higher in quality.

I have been having a blast staining and polyurethening the mouldings - it is amazing how much the wood transforms with the smallest TLC.

Staining is stinky work though!

Avoid United, skiers

United airlines just announced it will be implementing a $25 fee for checking a second bag on its domestic flights. For many this is an inevitability - medications, walkers, skiis AND boots, etc.

If United weren't already the last airline on my list, it would be now. After failing to deliver my family's luggage for four days in Christmas 06 - I was privy to some of the worst customer service I have yet experienced with an airline.
